This short was obviously really weird to watch. You're thrust into this world without any kind of explanation as to what these people are doing or why. I think it was wise of the filmmakers not to have any people from the normal world interacting with the main characters until the murder scenes. I think it gave you a chance to get used to the characters without the judgement of the outside world to influence your opinion. They're weird enough on their own. Their goal was a little vague. I'm guessing the only point to the short was their journey to becoming "gangster" and being taken seriously. Honestly it was a little hard to follow and I'm not sure if they reached their goal or not.

Um... Wow. Well, I'm trying to think of a deeper meaning to the film, but I just can't. In almost everything that we've viewed thus far, there has been a philosophical explanation as to why things are happening in the film. There wasn't anything absolutely amazing about this short. It was quite humorous, but other than that, nothing that would make me recommend it for a friend to see. The whole, "I'm old enough to bleed, old enough to breed" part was also pretty disturbing.

  3. By far this was the most out there film I have seen. Supposedly there are many underlying meanings to this film, they are just beyond me. Since I don't really understand what the message was I just see it as a ridiculous video that makes me wish I hadn't watched that but I know that I will not be making a film like that any time soon. I wouldn't even know where to start..maybe just add a little bit of everything that I find weird and obscene.

This was easily the strangest short we've watched thus far. It's such a weird concept and there is little to no explanation for what is going on. It also switches tones constantly and left me wondering how exactly I should be taking all of what was happening. It's well-made, and drew me into its world, even though I had no idea what it was really about and was kind of put-off by the characters and their actions. Maybe that was the point. The cinematography used bright colors, especially in those crazy Pokemon-looking outfits the leads were wearing, and relatively nice-looking environments as a good contrast to the craziness that was going on otherwise. I'm not sure I could say that I "liked" this short overall, but it certainly held my interest.

Well, I can safely say this is a Harmony Korine film. Bizarre characters and dialogue that don't resemble anything on the planet Earth, disorienting editing and pacing, an absence of a shred of "plot," offensive ideas, a general feeling that the filmmaker is seriously fucking with you, unrivaled pretentiousness; all of Korine's trademarks are here. With his films, I think he focuses more on creating a confusing, dark, and alien atmosphere rather than on crafting a memorable narrative. If that's his goal, he succeeded.

However, I don't think that alone makes a good film. His typical flaws appear as well. Sometimes I think he's weird just for the sake of being weird (Julien Donkey-Boy), and I doubt there's any message of value to be gained from this one. I admire his style (Gummo is great), but like with this short, it lacks substance. I'm left feeling empty and hollow, no real commentary gleaned from the jumbled mess.

  6. I thought this movie was terible and a waste of the film they put it on. The plotline made absolutely no sense. At least, I didn't understand it. are they in the wheelchairs because they are paralyzed? And why are they in pokemon costumes? And they go around shooting random people, what's up with that.

I actually kind of like this but i have no idea what in the worl i just watched. the cinematography was cool and the little music video thing in the middle was "dope" but i guess they were making fun of gangsta culture in america or something but i seriously don't know. funny movie though.
